Account & activity data
- Account info: email, username, and a hashed password (we never see or store your actual password).
- Votes & reviews: which products you've voted on, your written reviews, and ownership length.
- Verification uploads: a receipt or photo you submit to prove ownership. See §2 below — these are not kept forever.
- Technical data: IP address (used for spam/abuse prevention, e.g. detecting fake-account rings — see our methodology), and basic analytics (page views, via Google Analytics).
Verification uploads are deleted automatically
A receipt or photo you upload to verify ownership is used once — to let an admin confirm your claim — and then removed:
- Approved: the file is deleted 30 days after approval.
- Rejected: the file is deleted 7 days after rejection (a short window in case you want to see it before re-uploading).
The decision itself (approved/rejected, and why) is kept permanently as part of your account's verification record — only the raw file is removed. We ask that you black out card numbers, addresses, or other personal info before uploading, since we can't automatically redact it for you.
No selling, no sharing with advertisers
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your email, uploads, or personal info with brands or advertisers.
- We do not use AI to read or summarize your reviews — every published word is written by a real person, and stays that way.
Google Analytics, and login sessions
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand overall traffic — pages visited, general location, device type. This data is aggregated and not used to identify you individually. We also set a session cookie when you log in, purely to keep you signed in; it contains no personal data itself.
What's visible to other people
If you create a public profile (/u/yourusername), it shows your username, verified items, approved reviews, earned badges, and join date. It never shows your email, uploaded files, or IP address. See our methodology page for the full trust model.
